About Wastewater Services
Wastewater Services consists of two elements: the transport and treatment of wastewater. Wastewater is typically generated by three sources: residential, business and industrial.
The transport of wastewater includes the collection system: consisting of laterals, mains, and trunk lines; and lift stations, which pump wastewater once it reaches a point that it can no longer flow by gravity.
The treatment of wastewater takes place at a plant located on Industry Drive where it undergoes physical, biological and chemical processes to produce a high quality effluent that is discharged to the South Holston River.
